Located in South Brisbane’s up-and-coming Fish Lane is Chu the Phat, a vibrant and contemporary bistro which draws inspiration from Asia’s bustling street food stalls. Chu the Phat fuses the fast, fun vibes and flavours of the hawker stalls in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan.
Dane Nicholson from Hospitality Superstore and rawGROUP worked closely with SKOPE to perfect the fit-out. Downstairs a sprawling bar, featuring three SKOPE Counterline fridges with tropical glass doors, takes centre stage. Tropical glass doors are heated to eliminate condensation and maximise beverage sales. Angus Telford, Front of House Manager, has no doubt that
"I have no doubt that the fit-out, food, drinks and staff will all combine to make every visit a memorable event."
Upstairs, guests are drawn into a more intimate space with a second bar and Chu the Phat’s open-plan kitchen. The bar features SKOPE Backbar X bar display fridges. The attractive modern frameless glass doors and whisper quiet operation of these fridges are the perfect addition to the aesthetics and ambience of the space. In the kitchen, SKOPE’s premium range of Pegasus underbench fridges and freezers have no trouble keeping up with the pace. Designed to be highly efficient and reliable, Pegasus keeps food safe even in high ambient temperatures and their gastronorm design improves kitchen flow and maximises valuable kitchen space.

“A wine shop wanted to offer deli food like: salami and cheese but didn’t want to buy fridges, in case it wasn’t a good return on investment. They started with renting one Open Deck display fridge which proved to be a hit. They then decided to rent at multiple locations. Knowing that they could simply return at any time if sales didn’t warrant it or move fridges to different locations gave them peace of mind.”
